Like a lot of San Francisco Bay Area commuters, I made the switch last month from monthly passes to Clipper card. Now, instead of a piece of paper punched with my zones and adorned with a Muni sticker, whose icon and color changes monthly, I get to carry around a blue plastic card with an idiotically bad graphic on it that I think it supposed to look like a couple of clipper ships, but who knows. It's too ugly to reproduce here. Instead, take a last look at these beauties, including a list of the images on those Muni stickers:
September = a schoolhouse, for back-to-school month, even though most kids these days start in August.
October = a jack-o-lantern, of course.
November = a pilgrim's hat. Ditto.
December = Santa. Duh.
January = a stork delivering a bundle of joy. Hmm. I guess that means April is procreation month? Can't wait to see that image.
February = hearts. Aww....
March = pot 'o gold, for St. Paddy's day.
April = a flower. Isn't that when spring training starts?
May = a baseball bat. They must have gotten these two months mixed up, since April showers bring May flowers.
June = a diploma, natch.
July = a feline of some sort, perhaps a tiger? I don't get this one at all. Anybody got any ideas?
August = a bunny rabbit. A dog would make sense (dog days of August, and all that), but a rabbit?
Maybe that Clipper card arrived just in time.
