These lamps were given to me as a gift from my mother-in-law. The pictures are not the best, but these lamps have me stumped as to the person who made them. All I can out is they were probably produced in the 1950's or 60's in PA but they seem to be earlier. I love the top of these lamps as well as the cherub like bases. One one of them there is the name Falkenstein and some numbers however on the other lamp the base is a little different and I cannot find any writing on it. If someone knows anything about these lamps please email me.

I hope that I might help you. I research many items that may be vintage or rare for people or stores wishing to find the actual value so that they may sell or insure the item.

In your case it seems that you definately have a Falkenstein lamp. All of the Falkentein lamps of which I have identified have a 3, 4, or a 4 digit with a - and another number. All of Falkensteins lamp contain his name and numbers cast into the bottom of the base of the lamp. The base of the lamp will be brass or bronze.

The other lamps you have mentioned could be cast similar to what I have described. However, without the Falkenstein name not being cast on the other lamps leads me to believe that they are not Falkenstein lamps. Please do not fret. these lamps may be more valuable than the Falkenstein lamp that you have. You may want to go to Google on the internet and type in Falkenstein lamps and select images. If you find a lamp similar to the one you have, double click the photo and then select the option to visit the web site. This may help you !

A problem with a number of lamp manufacturers from the 20's through the 50's used paper or foil tags affixed to the lamp. Unfortunately if the tag is removed it makes it very difficult to identify the maker.

One in particular would be a Stiffel lamp. When they were first made they attached a foil tag with the Stiffel name. These lamps have become very much a collectors item. Without the tag however, one could not guarantee it to be a
      vintage Stiffel lamp.

      Good Luck!

Vintagesearcher thank you for your response. One other question, do you have any idea what the value of these lamps are?
