Great item!
I have one just like it! Yours is in much better condition as I dug mine up with a metal detector.
Nice one, I have the next one after your's dated; july 6 09 - march 28 16 but mine has no Tire Co. on it.
I have one of these as well...lol... I wonder how many are out there???
Triker, your is older, but I've got one too, I would say there might be a few, lol. Mine still has the leather sheath with the Schrader logo on the snap and is dated Nov 25 1919-April 10 1923. Thanks for sharing this GREAT piece!!!
Ok so Triker has march/1/89 to July/6/09, then I have July/9/09 to March/28/16 and kerry has Nov/25/19 to Apr/10/23 so who has Mar/28/16 to Nov/25/19? lol
i m going to look brb lol i have to know
you can see the ones i have under my picture . the dates r the same for two march 1 98 -july 6-09 and 1914 and the silver one has 4 dates 1090 to 1923
should read 1909 to 1923
MY BAD!!!! The first date should be 1898 NOT 1889 So Sorry.
I did some history research and it seems that in 1890, August Schrader's son enters the business and becomes responsible for the experimental work that results in the design of the tire valve. In 1891 Schrader produced the first tire valve for the bicycle. In 1896 Schrader patented the tire valve cap and tire valves for automobiles were introduced. In 1905 Schrader introduced guages to measure tire pressure with accuracy. So.....It seems that although mine has a Pat'd date of 1898 it wasn't introduced until 1905. Those are high resolution pic's and you can really zoom in on the detail. (that's when I realized my mistake). Thank you all for the Loves and Likes. Hmmmm, now where did I put my glasses?
Hey all! I've been away for awhile. Medical issues. Any way, I found another Schrader tire gauge at a yard sale today for a buck. The dates on this one are March 28, 1916, Feb 14, 1922 & April 10, 1923.
