I know it's a Glen Traditionals, hand built in 1982, Glen Falls, PA. It was purchased at Modernage in Miami, FL. Anyone know anything else about it? Should I keep it? Is it collectible or does it have potential to be collectible in the future? It was owned by my parents, (both deceased), and I have it in heated storage. It is huge, the bed in the picture is King Size, and it doesn't fit in my current house, but who knows what the future holds.
If you like it, hang on to it. I'm no expert, but this doesn't look like a style that will be collectible any time soon! Yikes!
Hi there. This is actually a Glen Traditionals suite from Glen Rock PA. It was very high end and high quality, and Ive seen these online in other styles for several thousand dollars. It wad near where i grew up, and the company was third or fourth generation and had some famoud clientele. Some of the family are still around I believe and were still in the business. This is a more fanciful piece, but its becoming more collectible especially in the new york and dc areas.
Out here in our Italian community we have furniture by Franco Cotzo. He sells very similar furniture and it also goes in the thousands..I think In the right room And for the right person they would adore it. It's obviously an acquired taste but for you it might hold an even more sentimental value...who knows what becomes more fashionable in the future. I'm sitting under a grey and yellow Duvet cover that 12 months ago I would have laughed at the suggestion..I saw a similar cover on The Block tv show and just had to have it...lol..us humans are an ever changing beast...happy Easter
Ron b I a have a set just like that. Mines includes a big armour. Do you know what your parents paid for it? It's is very good quality furniture.
