I am not really a baseball fan, never watch televised sports, but I have always wanted to enjoy the experience of attending a live game. When I found this in a thrift store I just couldn't resist picking it up. Then when I happened across your site I couldn't resist showing it off. I have no info on it, other than its cool. Was hoping someone may know something about the diorama or its maker.

Nice piece ! The items are all from different era , like the shin guard ,chest protector, ect . The shirt is from any amateur team . It was put together by some collector not a company .

      These are modern decorator items.

None of the items appear to be real-- are they all made of resin?

Is it full sized or in miniature?

I think resin also Scott !!! My husband said no I said yes they are resin . He insisted so we agreed they were from different era's all the items . I think it makes a nice decorator piece . I am not into baseball so we need poster to tell us what they are made of . I though glove sure looked like resin . maybe my eyes are better than my baseball crazy husband . He loves it , he said glove was in style of 70's ?

The aging on the glove sure looks painted on.

The chest protector was the first thing that really stood out as resin and caused me to look closely at everything else.

Being baseball crazy isn't that bad-- my wife has accused me of the same thing!

      Go Braves.

LOL I hear baseball all day oh dear . I guess my husband likes players more than a team . He studies each player I think :-) Anyway I did go to a Braves game once back in 60 but we are now brewers fans I think :-) Who know's the TV is switched so often to watch every game being played at same time . I thought the catchers protective gear was the home base LOL Tell I was set straight .

The size is 8" x 11 3/4" x 2" deep. The newspapers are paper, not sure of the rest. Saw a seemingly identical one on ebay that was listed as wood, clay, paper, and plastic. The box is wood. There is a label on thr back that says; "Keypoint, Dallas TX." then "handcrafted in china" I just wonder haw many were produced, there is a copyright number, but no production number. I am curious and thanks for all the comments.

Oh, I forgot, the date on the New York Times is Oct. 13, 1967. Does anyone know if that is a significant date for baseball?

Then it is a resin made set . Yeah Scott I can throw this in husbands face for yrs :-)
It is a decorator item and really has value only to a person that wants to decorate a room . When you post a item baglady it is always helpful to put all the info you can down so we don't have to guess :-) It is nice piece for a boys bedroom .
