This was hanging in my kitchen in NE Philadelphia and I just took it down. I have searched all over the internet, but I have no idea what this is. It says "Cornell" on it where all the electrical connections are in the center of the lamp. I'd just like to know what it is, and if possible its value. Thank you.

Looks like a 1960's piece to me. Are the jewels glass or plastic? The casting on the light spider looks like 60's. What is the age of the house you took it out of? Also it appears to have small candelabra sockets, a piece from the early part of the century would have full size sockets.

I believe the jewels are glass, is there a way I could tell? The house was built in the early 30'a I believe. Also, the sockets are for the small candle type lights off that helps. Thanks for the insight!
