I think this is some type of beverage dispenser. Because of the shape and size, I think it is designed to be carried on someone's back.
I've included pictures of the front, back, top, and bottom (screening/wires).
If you look at the bottom picture, you can see the shape. It reminds me of a large flask.
There is lettering above the large hole in the front - "CRUSH USED CUPS INSERT" - with an arrow pointing to the hole.
Any thoughts?
If it is a beverage dispenser, it is probably the type Jim Jones served Kool Aid out of. I think this is a weed sprayer. It would be filled with weed killer and would have a hose with a spray attachment to spray POISON on the weeds. It would be worn on your back like a pack. These were used in orange groves back in the 40's and 50's.
I don't think its a sprayer. There's lettering above the round hole in the front - "Crush used cups insert".
If there is any lettering or other identifying marks you should post photos or describe them at least.
I just uploaded another picture and I improved the description. Thank you for the advice. I'm a newbie here.
O.K. a little better pictures. I can see the spigot, bottom and the mounting hardware. I would guess it is probably stainless steel. Probably used by the forest service or millitary maybe for drinking water at remote work sites. Like brush thinning crews and such. The piece of metal on the center left side is a mounting bracket for a dixie cup dispenser. Hence the wording Crushed cups insert here. Just shows what good pictures and comlete pictures can achieve.
Thank you for your input!
