This came out of an old drugstore in South Philadelphia, most likely from the early 1900's...can't be exactly sure. Does anyone know what it could be reffered as? Would it be categorized as APOTHACARY or PHARMACY or both?
Can't find anything like it any where, but I may not be searching under the correct definition of what it is. The demensions are 391/4"W x 251/2"H x 3/8" thick. Also would like to know if any one collects these and what it's value might be.

    Thanks!

This is an item from a Drug Store, possibly a section of glass used as a partition on top of a ledge in front of a dispensary, there could have been several in a row, affording privacy for the Druggist and dispensing staff. The symbol on the glass is the symbol used by pharmacists designating a Drugstore,Dispensary or Pharmacy. It stands for the latin recipio meaning take thou and is often seen on prescription pads used by physicians.
