    This photo was taken about 1895,and it's actually a metal photo. My Grandfather is on the left and was about 11 years old at the time. The other two are two of his four brothers.

      It is great to have something from the family that is that old and with people you can identify.

      The format of the photo is a tintype. It was very popular in the US from about the middle 1850s until 1900. They were still made after 1900 (actually still made today), but more as a novelty item.
