Hi: I bought this doll at an antique show a few years ago, and I wonder if anyone knows who she is. I just fell in love with her face, and she reminds me of the Raynal and Lenci dolls - but she appears to be papier mache with celluloid hands, straw stuffed cloth body.
She's been sitting in my office and I just haven't been able to find her origin although she looks french to me.
If anyone knows who she is -- or where she is from - who made her? I would love to know. She is not the kind of doll that I usually collect, but I couldn't resist her face.
Thank you!
She might be Italian?
Her numbers suggest the writing of German dolls . There should be a symbol and country of origin under her hair , below the numbers , you might have to pull up on head a bit to see gently . Lovely doll !
