found this in a little second hand shop in our city, paid $20.00 for it, was wondering if anyone could give me anymore info on it?

Joan, your shade is of recent make, within the last 20 years. That being said, $20.00 is a great deal! Especially if you enjoy it. Hanging it is fine, but you can also put it on a lamp base. Keep an eye out on Ebay and you can find a great older base that looks good with it. Make sure the one your get is an inch or two at least higher than the width of your shade. Good catch!
