I inherited this lamp from my grandmother who passed away in the 90's in Detroit. It belonged to her parents and was part of the furnishings in their Detroit home that was sold after my grandmother passed away. It is extremely heavy and the finish on the ornate overlay is peeling and chipping. I am also interested in finding out who the manufacturer was--I have looked online and haven't seen any other lamps that look exactly like this one. The shade has an outward curve in it toward the bottom and the filigree is extremely ornate and detailed. Thanks for any leads......

I checked carefully on the base and the underside of the shade and can't see anything that looks like letters or numbers. This seems odd to me that a piece this substantial has no manufacturer's markings.

Miller Lamp Co. made a lamp very similar to yours, but usually signed their lamps. Other companies also made similar lamps and may have not signed them; like Empire Lamp Co. It would be hard to identify unless it could be found in an original catalogue. The finish on your lamp appears to be original, please do not repaint or strip the finish off; you will diminish the value. The ornate design makes your lamp more collectible. Value is based on condition and rarity. Auction value is about $400.00-$800.00. Retail add $500.00. I hope this helps you.
