      Stonesfan 1 What you have there is an anti-kick device used when milking cows by hand. The curved metal hooks fit on the back legs and prevented ol' bessie from kicking because her legs were hooked together. We also used them when we were trying to get a cow to accept a calf that wasn't her own. Hope this helps.

      My first question was going to be if you used to live on a farm. Because that is what I was going to say they were also.
