This is a small vase that I've had for years but remains a mystery to me.
Recently I saw a similar coloured vase - the champagne yellow which had been decorated with engraved lines. It was an early vase by Per Lutken for Holmegaard .... 1944. But when I read the description in Danish translation I was disappointed to see that the lines were engraved. The pontil is polished and and ground right to the edge. This is quite distinct, I think. The white threads inside the champagne coloured glass remind me of the Lindstrand vases for Kosta.
I like the angled lip as well.
I'm afraid I cannot help much with this... but I will now start looking for champagne glass with vertical stripes engraved, hahaha :)
Have you tried looking for Elsa Söderberg from Hovmantorp? She had this kind of threads in much of her work, although she used tons of them... I will soon upload here a picture of one of Söderberg's pieces.
Nanny Still also had some simmilar work, although I'd say this is not of her shapes...
Thanks to you all scandinavian_pieces, AmberRose, BELLIN68 and austrohungaro!
I had seen something similar by Nanny Still years ago, but I agree the shape seemed different. The Kosta pieces have flat bottoms I think, Amy?
Thanks for the hint about Elsa Söderberg for Hovmantorp, too oztroHun!
I'd say heavy rather than light. Thanks for the attention and help.
Is that unmarked one a Lindstrand piece?
It's certainly a similar look.
But the bottom has been ground differently to mine.
For some reason I always look to the bottom of pieces for data .... not just signatures. But maybe that's being too finicky ?
Hey thank you for putting all of this together for us Amy!
It's all much appreciated and the links are great!
And thanks for the book title.
I've seen of it, but have not seen one here yet.
