Niagara Falls has been a popular backdrop almost since the advent of photography.
Large ambrotypes from the 1850s are available that show the actual falls.
These two images depict painted backdrops from a later time period.
The tintype dates from the 1880s and shows two men in front of a studio backdrop.
The Real Photo Postcard (RPPC) is from the late 1920s and shows a couple in front of a similar studio backdrop.
There are collectors out there who search out these backdrop views.
