Rare version of Durand's Moorish Crackle. Usually the base glass is opal with another color ( blue, green, red ) plated over it. This is then crackled in water while hot. The last step is to luster the piece.
The present example is done on an ambergris base and layered with pulled decoration which shows through the crackle.
8 1/2 inches high.

Stunning..a new find?
famatta127 : yes, a new purchase. I had reached my buying limit for the month......5 pieces by the FIRST week of January.........but I couldn't let this one go by because of the unusual treatment.
Beautiful...I can't find these at the auction in Cleveland these days.
Great vase.
