I traded a antique dining table and chairs and a china cabinet for this piece. It has lift door on the bottom part for storing gloves and scarves and whatever. Even though I had about $800 invested in the dining set I think I made a good trade. If anyone can tell me anything about this hall tree I would appreciate it.
We had this exact one growing up. My sister has it now. We used the heck out of that thing, I still remember trying to find the lost glove in the corners. I think you made an excellent trade. Rarely do you get to see a hall tree that is so ornate (and the wonderful beveled glass). I want to say it's oak, and our belonged to our grandmother before us. I'm going to say late 1800's early 1900's. That is about all I know though.
I have a bed with almost exact design . I will try and get photo posted . I always figured bed to early 1900 ? It is Oak and another wood .
Love yours !
