Pictured is a grouping of equipment taken off a KIA NVA soldier. They were taken by a U.S. Marine named Kirk, who served in Mike Company, 3rd Battalion of the 5th Marines Regiment-1st Marine Division. He got them in August of 1970, while operating in Arizona Territory, an area near An Hoa. Kirk carried an M-60 machine gun, and after landing in a hot LZ (Hehos), they exchanged heavy fire with a battalion sized group of NVA regulars. Afterwards, he picked up souvenirs along with others in his group. The belt and flag have some stains on them, and the canteen has the NVA soldiers name scratched into it. The canteen strap was separated during the engagement. Note that the interlocking belt buckle has the communist star on it. The NVA soldiers name was Nguyen Duo Vuong, who was doing his duty for his country.
