Serial Number G577221 from a batch of 50,000 commissioned June 22 1910.
The spring in the bobbin winder that holds the finger in place is not working, which is why it's at a funny angle :)
and it's not in it's original cabinet, which was a 7 drawer embossed one, but sadly in splinters when I got it :( I've put it into a 1930's parlour cabinet which previously held a later style 66.
Absolutely beautiful machine! Congrats
Hi Bernadette, you just helped my identify my Singer 99 on here a bit ago today, I just got notified that the deleted it because there is no selling on here. Did I miss something, I only asked for info and not for sale and marked it as solved, that's the second time this has happened to me, I don't think CW likes me for some reason. Do you remember anything there that said it was for sale????
Hi Shaliberty, no I don't think there was anything about selling. Strange. Maybe there's something wrong with the software that marks it as solved?
Hi Bernadette, I found out, I did have it advertised on Craigslist, and they I couldn't post on this site if it was advertised anywhere else for sale. Sheesh, I did not know that.....
beautiful piece of machinery
Thank you for the likes and comments :) I especially love it - the Red Eye design is less common in Australia, because most of our Singer machines came from the Kilbowie factory in Scotland, where they didn't use the Red Eye decal, our 66 machines are nearly always Lotus pattern. Also it's in excellent condition compared to many I see here.
bernadette -- thanks for solving my mystery -- have been up since 5am playing -- will do another post -- but i do so thank you for helping me on this one

Hi Bernadette, I am impressed how much you know about sewing machines. I would like to know if you can help me. I am trying to restore a singer machine VS2 (fiddle bed-painted red and cream roses, daisies; serial number 10610977). Where I can find this particularly decal? Thanks you,
