Irishnativ…

Need some history on this. Bought in a large bag of jewelry at the thrift store. It is heavy. Authentic or replicated? Will probably be recategorized since I don't see badges or police type categories.
Reproduction.

Sorry for the bad news.
If you do a web search you will find numerous examples-- probably several on ebay at any given time as well.

Any time you see badges with this kind of dull silver finish you can safely assume that it is a very modern fake or fantasy. if you can do a specific gravity test or do a test filing in some not so visable spot you will find that it is silver plated bronze. These badges are currently being made and sold. In my opinion they are a curse on the hobby. Thanks for showing it. I hope you saved someone from wasting too much money on one of these.
It sounds like Irishnative was buying the bag of jewellry, so no harm in this case.
If you are buying individually be skeptical on ANY early law badge.
Few authentic examples exist and they are heavily reproduced.
