You need to unscrew the back of the watch and take a picture of the working parts or movement as it's called. The serial number found there will tell us alot... As to where it was made here's a Wiki link for you:

How does the back unscrew. I don't want to damage anything. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks! I posted a photo of the back. Can you help with providing some info on this watch?
Well first off, toolate2 has giving us all a couple of great links to view, thanks toolate2. As toolate also pointed out the location of mfg i'll just back him up on that,
Elgin ,Ill was the place it was made. approx date would be 1907-08 if i read the serial number right. Been known to misread them things, lol but I believe it is 13051165. you can see the production dates at the link I post at bottom. Again nice timepiece and family heirloom, thanks for sharing. Hope toolate2 and I have give you answers you were looking for.

Barb, Check ebay but I' thinking $500-$600???
Thanks for all your help. Can you give me an idea as to what the Elgin watch pictured above cost when it was originally purchased in 1907 and how much it's worth today? Also, should I have the watch serviced? If so, can any jeweler do this?
