I recently aquired this clock from my aunt she told me she bought it about 25 years ago, I would like to identify who made the clock and its worth. I live in California and the clock is in Massachusetts, I need information on how to prepare and ship the clock and someone who could work on it if needed. Can I get it packed and shipped by someone who knows how this is done for clocks of this type.

I can't tell about the size but this looks like what I would call a granddaughter clock esp if it is under 5'2 but I am no expert. Have you found an answer to your shipping Q yet?

I recieved the below information from a grandson of the Daneker who started making the clocks in the 40's
The clock is a Daneker, style 66, manufactured approx. 1955/56, cherry wood, Mauthe w-500 movement with Westminster chimes. In good working order approx. value would be $500-700. No manual available for approx. 20 years. To prepare for shipping contact local clock maker to break down and crate clock. In San Francisco, check again for local clock maker....make sure clock is cleaned, oiled and set up properly before you attempt to start it.

Hope you get many years of pleasure from your family heirloom.

I have aquired a wonderful Daneker clock model J66 . Maple wood I believe. I was told it was from the 1950's or 1960's. Where or how could I get a key to wind the clock. I have the key to lock the glass door but none to wind it. Thank you for any information that you can give me Many thanks Maggie

      Maggie,
I would start by contacting Dolores Danekar at ddfla2010@att.net, she responded to my e-mail on my Danaker J66, I believeTom Danaker still repairs the clocks somewhere in New England, good luck.
