My grandfather gave this to me, he thought it may be worth some money. his father bought it in 1910 and gave it to my grandfather when he turned 15. it still works, says elgin on front and on back also says elgin base metal, it has alligator straps. its in pretty good condition. I would like to know if there is any value in it. any info would be very much appreciated. thank you. Patty
Sorry to say, but this is not a 1910 model, closer to the 1970's
And Elgin watch always have some value, need info as how many jewels and such.
Still it's a nice watch.
Here's one that is the same only it has the day-date window, sold for $60.

bummer! my grandfather just passed away two months ago, he was as sharp as a tack when he gave me these.. I have another one that looks much older, maybe he was talking about that one. Ill take a picture andpost it. thanks all! I appeciate it very much!
Sorry to hear about Grandfather, but I'll keep an eye out for your other one. Again this one is a nice timepiece and probably 17 jewel. That's a good timepiece and the automatic feature was just the thing in the 70's. Top notch in it's day. Thanks for sharing your heirloom with me.
HI Kerry, I appreciate your wisdom on this and I look forward to what you think of the other two I just put on. again any info is greatley appreciated. best to you. Patty
Just wanted to add a "THANK YOU" to AR8Jason for the #4 comment. He's really knows watches and it a pleasure to to have him mention me in his posting. Thanks AR8Jason!!!!!!
