I purchased this cabinet from a local retailer that had this in their original store front in Anoka, MN

I thought the piece was so unique and i am a card maker, so this attracted me.

The piece has an original Glass Etched American Greetings Sign also.

I would like to know more about this, it appears by the label on the back that is was manufactured in Grand Rapids, MI.

If anyone knows anything about this or has any idea the value, please let me know.

I have one metal (4 drawer), American Greeting Card file cabinet, one art deco style (4 drawer), metal Greeting card file cabinet, and an early wood greeting card cabinet from Holyoke, Massachusetts. Mine date from the early 40's or late 1930's. I paid 145.00 for the first, 20.00 for the second, and around 300.00 for the third one. The wooden one from Holyoke was straight out of a small country store that closed its doors around 1962 or so. It had over 100 vintage greeting cards still in the drawers.

Your cabinet is much larger and is a show stopper. I imagine it weighs quite a bit. If the overall measurements are not a deterrent to someone wishing to put it in their home, I would not ask less than $700.00 for it. Obviously that is my personal opinion. It could sell for more. I have not seen one for sale, and have only come across three like mine for sale in my 25+ years of collecting. And I bought all three. :^)

I did a recent search to try and get a value for mine. I only found three sales of metal greeting card file cabinets that were similar to mine. One sold for $299.00, another for $400.00, and the third one did not list the final sale price. Two of the metal cabinets were in better shape than mine.

I have not found a wooden greeting card cabinet like mine for sale, so I do not a value other than what I would be willing to sell it for. I would not ask less than 400.00 for mine.

Thanks for posting the picture of yours. It is a beauty.
