The first diamond-shaped piece was given to me by my sister in the UK. An elderly friend had given it to her in the 60's. It is all little pieces of colored shells or stones, packed in very tightly on their edges for form flowers in a pearl looking background. Does anyone know what you call this type of jewlery? I don't know if it is Victorian.
The human hair pin was originally my grandmothers who died in 1945.It then went on to my Auntie Bo. When she died in 1975, my Uncle let family and friends pick a piece of her jewelry. It had pretty much been sorted over when I arrived in the UK the following year but this pin caught my eye just because it was different. I am assuming it is Victorian.
The first piece, very nice, could be Micro Mosaic but I realy can't see it well. Perhaps you could place another more clear photo? The second is a so called momento mori or mourning brooch with hair of the deceased. Both beautyful jewels!
