    (363 items)

This is a follow-up to a previous post. These items were found in an NVA rucksack by a U.S. Marine named Matt, in September of 1967, in Con Tien. The mess tin was used for cooking rice, as well as using the middle tray and top section as plates. The mess tin is very similar to WW II German and Japanese mess tins. The green swirl rice bowl is metal with a porcelain finish, and has a metal ring so it can be hung on equipment. The spoon is made of aluminum.

the enameled steel rice bowls are still sold in local asian markets, except they dont have the extra hole on the bottom for attaching to gear, most likely made in China.
