NVA Brass Bugles with Flag Pendants

Shown are two North Vietnamese Army (NVA), or Viet Cong (VC) brass bugles. These bugles were used by NVA regulars and also by Viet Cong guerillas to communicate troop movement during battle. Both bugles have a nice patina, and can still be played. The small bugle was found at an estate sale, and there was no information on how it was obtained. The larger bugle is marked DUC-TIEN SAIGON, and was taken in the Da Lat area during Tet, 1968. Jim the vet, said the bugle was dropped when the NVA were being chased during a retreat, and barely twenty rounds were fired during the engagement.
