Picked this up at antiques show. Airplane clock, marked on back "Longines-Wittnauer Clock Co." The dial is really interesting, and reads "A.C.U.S. Army". Assume that means Army Air Corp? Pre Air Force? Mechanical, runs great...anyone have more information?

I have since also learned that this is called an A-11, and was manufactured by several compsanies, from Elgin to Hamilton. Some say US AF, which would seem to be later models, than the ones that refer to Air Corp.

no more glow left! As posted above, I understand these A11 models are older when they have the Air Corp reference, rather than later ones that say Air Force.
Never did have 'glow in the dark' these hands and numbers were white for internal or external lights, either white or red......Not so sure about the reference either, Army Air Corps would have been noted with Army first, not second. This is an 'All weather' clock and might have been part of something else, Radio Gear but not necessarily avation related....Nice Item.
The A-11 is a standard aircraft clock for WW2 airplanes.
I am not sure of the other uses or if they were made after the war as well.

The hands and numerals have the fuzzy brownish yellow look typical of old radium paint. It loses its glow over time, but not its radioactivity, so be careful not to handle it too much if you decide to open the clock up.
