That... is a really nice Plate! its Fentons Thistle, Where did you get it?
do you plan on getting rid of it?
I got the plate as a part lot in a local auction in England. I was after some paperweights and found this in the box. Do you know how old it is?
About 100 years old, I collect carnival glass ive posted three of my bowls, but ive always wanted one of those plates:)
What a great plate! Yes, this is Fenton's Thistle. In perfect condition these plates go for a lot of money. Congratulations.
Thanks Glen. It really is a nice plate and I can't see anything wrong with it. Do you have any suggestions as to how I should proceed? What would be the best place to sell it do you think?
You could always contact one of the specialist Carnival auctioneers. There are links to their websites on the wwwcga (internet Carnival club) site. Here's the page:

Thank you for your help so far. Just one more question. Would you know which is the biggest carnival glass event in the US showing and selling that is.
Thank you
It would be one of the major club conventions. Possibly HOACGA or ICGA, maybe wwwcga. It would depend where you are located. The big conventions will be next year now - from spring through to late summer.
Thanks for that the plates in England so will have to arrange for it to travel to the US.
Agree - it is the thistle [scottish] by Fenton.
