Ceramic Bird in flight off white figurine glossy finish vintage

First picture is very near the actual color of my favorite bird. I know it is old but I don't know anything else about it. It belonged to my mother. An insurance man came to our house once and admired the bird, telling my mother that it was a very collectable item and probably worth a lot more than you would think.
That is all I know about it. It is not stamped or marked in any way.
