This is my 1969 Les Paul custom that Ive owned for the past 13 years. This was my favorite LP (until my 71' came along) and played it every day for 8 years. Its played countless shows, recordings and had been on a lot of tours. I bought this from a Guitar dealer in Berkeley on the 4th of July. It was a disaster when I bought it. The finish was crumbling off of it, nothing worked, it had a Japanese bridge on it and some really bad pickups in it too. Worst of all it smelled like really bad B.O.! It took years to get that smell out of the guitar, the case was thrown away the 1st day I brought it home, it smelled like a homeless person: completely disgusting!. It was fully dissembled and cleaned (and I mean CLEANED!!). I replaced the bridge with a real Gibson bridge from the early 70's, the bridge pegs were broken so they had so they to be drilled out and replaced, it also had a bad headstock repair that was re-repaired correctly. I put in an older Seymour Duncan Jeff Beck I had lying around in the bridge and a Seymour (I don't know what model) at the neck, sounds like heaven. I was told by the dealer that it was found in the trunk of a car at an auto wrecking yard and they sold to him, I wouldn't doubt that! I got it for $500 and a right handed SG JR that I paid $200.00 for. It does play like and sound like a dream though, much better than anything you could buy now days. The paint is still falling off of it but it is the most stable guitar I own.
