This phone was in my family home when I was a child about 70 years ago in Southwest Missouri and I stood in a chair in order to use it. It was originally was in a business in Kansas. The wiring diagram label inside said it is for an 896 which is a 1918 model but the rest of the information is torn off. Can someone tell me the manufacturer? The magneto is a Stromberg-Carlson. The phone is now mounted on the wall in my home in Sonora, California.
It was made by Stromberg-Carlson. I just bought one for restoration.
We have a phone just like this except the mouth piece is flat and it is made by The North Electric Co. what can you tell me about it??? and it has 2 screws on it to open the door...
Your wall phone was manufactured by Stromberg-Carlson of Rochester, N.Y. from 1918 to 1932. It was the last of the wooden magneto wall phones produced by Stromberg-Carlson.
I am restoring the same one as we speak it was used in a railway station in januc tom tucker was correct with details mine was installed in 1922 in victoria australia also has service history inside plus date of assembly 1922 plus circuit diagram if you require copy let me know good luck Owen.

I can't find a maker, but it has a number stamped inside GB 1317 BU. The bells have been removed and covered with a plate, and it has a push button on the face with a plate that says " push to talk, release to listen" It still has 3 large Everready batteries inside also. Thanks for the help! Lisa
Hi, Just adding additional info to my previous question. I foung a tag that says Leich, and I have now found other similar phones, but I'm wondering if the send/receive button would have been original or maybe added when the bells were removed? I have not found any other phones with this button, so it's a mystery to me. Thanks again, Lisa
I also have the same phone and would like more information on it. I could'nt find a date but I did find these numbers on the mouth piece (1481884-L) And Stromberg-Carlson also on the mouth piece. Everything is intacked and also shows a wireing diagram on the inside. Is it worth much?
I have a wooden phone magneto powered. I am preparing to retore it for decoration. I am missing the 2 bells and the crank. I am also missing one of the wooden gussetts, however, I can make wooden gussett. Can anyone tell me where to find the missing bells and a crank.
