(1 item)
I found this at an estate sale it is marked Tiffany & Co 20804 makers 2797 sterling 925-1000M these marking are on the rim just above the glass. Any information about the item would be greatly appreciated.
Pattern number and order number .
Which number is which?
I have a question. Is the "M" a capital letter or in smaller case? M or m?
The M is for Edward C Moore 1869 - 1891.
The m is John C. Moore 1907 - 1947.
The numbers are put on individually too as you can see.
They are not in a straight line.
If it's a capital "M" then a pattern number of 2797 makes sense and gives a date of 1870 - 1874.
If it's a small "m" then a pattern number of 20804 means 1926.
I'm using the C & M Carpenter's info.pp256-261. I'm also supposing this is "hollow ware". It's lathe turned silver.
I've also noticed there's 32 engraved on the glass piece.
I wonder what that means? Is it a size?
Vetraio50, thanks for the information about my item but the one question I still have what is it? It is a capital M. Do you have any idea on what the value it might have? I have no idea what the #32 stands for.

Sorry bigbill, no idea of the value.
Demand & Supply create value.
Have you seen another?
no i have neer seen one like this before. in fact i am not sure what it is. you have any idea?
I liked the idea of a wine stopper.
The other thought I had was that it was a perfume stopper/dipper.
looks more like a perfume dauber to me. The #32 on the glass would have been repeated on perfume bottle to match the fitting of the dauber to the ground opening in the bottle.
