Found these unmarked Van Briggle pieces in an antiques store in Golden, CO. Unmarked can sometimes mean they were seconds, or not good enough to sign and resell. These are in great shape though, with the glaze not going all the way to the base as the only mark against them.

The memorial pottery building of Van Briggle (now part of Colorado College's campus) had quite a few pieces that were discovered when they moved. There was a good number of vases that were unsigned and uncataloged designs, some just had numbers and others had nothing. It's possible that these were taken from that hoard of pottery.

Since the glaze is solid mulberry, it's possible they could be older. Most of the pottery in the last 20-30 years or so has a secondary accent color to the glaze. It's also possible that they just weren't happy with these and decided not to add the secondary color.

The style is unique, I've looked or other Van Briggle creamer sets and I've not come up with anything that looks like these.

Either way, I paid $55.00 for them as a set and I'm quite happy with them to add to my small Van Briggle collection.

A lot of people have tried to reproduce van briggle, the glaze around the bottom is kinda of sloppy on these pieces, which leads me to believe these may be knock offs.

I think these pieces are the real deal. The bottom is right, the glaze looks right. There are the occasional pieces of VB that was unmarked for what ever reason. I have a piece.
