Found it in a box of miscellaneous army toys, never really thought I'd see one in such nice shape since they are supposedly so rare. I was excited to recognize it since a person on my budget would never in their right mind pay the going rate for this 3 1/2" long "critter".
In all honesty, it's rather crude. Wooden turret with no gun, limited detail, and die-cut particle board wheels. All the same, it has a certain charm to it. I'm not a train collector, but I might make an exception to reunite this with it's original set some day. I'm sure some of you train guys can fill me in.
Here's an article on said sets:

That's a neat little artifact and the condition is remarkable. Congratulations on your find. Keep your eyes open, the Marx Army train cars come up on occasion and they are pretty affordable.
Speak of the devil, here it is with the flat car!

Don't get me wrong, I love this little thing, but I sure could use the money!
Ebay can be crazy sometimes. Just look at that final price tag :O
Wow. I just checked the eBay winning price. Just wow.
Yeah...
Now you know what was going though my head when I first saw it. And know where I was coming from when I said "a person on my budget would never in their right mind pay the going rate for this 3 1/2" long 'critter'."
If you think that's crazy, check out the latest sale.

What is even more crazy is that I still want to keep it! I just like my tanks too much.
