    I am looking for info on these paintings. They were brought from france in 1947. They are oil paintings. They are very cool.

      it's impossible to say without very high quality closeups of the entire fronts and backs of these. i think that if they are paintings, they were probably recent copies in the 1940s, sold to tourists. the originals probably lie in a museum in the town where they were purchased. i'm guessing all this mainly based on the frames they are in - which are nothing to write home about.

      There is an I Love Lucy episode (1950s comedy show) where she, Ricky, Ethel, and Frank all go to France on holiday, and each end up buying the same exact painting that was sold as the original piece of art. 4 of the same original. LOL.
