This table was going to be thrown out by an elderly friend of the family. She asked if I liked it and when I said yes, she gave it to me. I absolutely love it but cannot find info / photo's of it on line or anywhere else for that matter. I did take it in to a high end furniture repair / restore place for questions on a minor repair and was told it is Walnut and very old. They wanted a lot of money for repair / restore and when I said I only wanted it repaired and not restored as I prefer the original condition, they weren't too happy about it so I just left. Other Antique stores also didn't know much about it but all offered to buy it for various prices. needless to say I don't know who to trust and I still have it. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thrown out? What a shame, glad you rescued it!

We have a table-radio that looks like your table. The front panel drops down to reveal dials. Lift lid to change tubes. We believe it is from the 1930's.

Hi ~ Your table is very similar to mine, but mine is way more ornate. Both my grandmother's lived to be almost 100 years old and my mom lived to be 80. I'm 61 and I remember it in photos way before I was born. There is a sticker on the bottom that got ruined when the person refinished it. All that is left on it that I can read is: ??????n Chair Company, Indiana. My Grandparents lived in Cleveland, Ohio and I know one of my Great - Great - Great - Grandfather's owned a furniture store too: Robert Mitchell Furniture Company. I think it was in Kentucky though. I will be calling my aunt in Ohio to see what I can find out about our table.

Feel free to email me and I will send you photos of the table & label that I have.

Also there is an Antique Store in Whittier, CA that has someone in there selling one just like yours for $225.00 (on sale). The name of the store is: King Richard's Worldest Largest Antique Store. It's on Whittier Blvd.
