You have good taste in toys! I love the Marx truck. That and early matchbox cars are an old obsession of mine ;)

cool trucks i used to have a couple of those ended up trading them tho, the first one i think is the hardest to find of the 4 big ones, did it originally have a cardboard insert that went into the back of truck? or am i thinking of a different truck?
    4. spriteboy42 spriteboy42, 13 years ago
I wish, but no. The value would double if it did because you rarely find them with the cardboard insert.

Still a cool truck considering its a fairly new 1960 truck pets 12th edition seems to think pretty highly of it. 1500$ with cardboard insert 800$ without, i would think you could get atleast 300$ for yours.

I picked it up for 70 about two years ago. It's friction which I think makes it a whole lot cooler.

Great deal, im betting you got it at a live auction, other bidders seem to let the young guys get great deals when they see us take interest in antiques :)

what were you able to get the marx truck for ( in pic 3 ) if you dont mind me asking?

    8. spriteboy42 spriteboy42, 13 years ago
95$ in a shop. maybe haha

      Any made in Canada?
    12. spriteboy42 spriteboy42, 13 years ago
How do you tell if it was?
    13. Benking, 13 years ago
Some Canada Made toys have incised or embosed or stamped marks; others you can tell somehow.

If you or another do have Canada made Toys, I would like to know as I plan to create a book...

hey coke.trevor.cola do you think the market now is good for the tin friction w/ out cardboard insert?
I'm not trying to sell anything, I just wonder because of it's condition (being that the insert is missing). People would rather have a perfect one?
    15. coke.trevor.cola coke.trevor.cola, 13 years ago
Yes people would rather have a perfect one, but we dont live in a perfect world so we have to settle with what we can find :) read comment 6 on this page
