This beautiful server came in a white/cream box, wrapped in cotton or linen. Lost in moving. Picture of side of server Theodor Olsen EFTF, blade is stainless. Theo Olsen silver in high demand, I have yet to find another server of this design. Rumor that it was made for a captain, with a abacus design. Not sure if that is true.

The crown-shaped mark is for Theodor Olsens Eftf, of Bergen, Norway. Date usage unknown (possibly 1837-1964?). Robert Welsh worked with Theodor Olsen (1952-1955) introducing stainless steel to his product line. There are a few variations of this mark. The seven dots in the circle represent the seven hills that surround the city of Bergen - they are also found on the old Bergen city silver mark, itself taken from the municipal arms.
The 830 S·STERLING" is for silver content.

I have found many Theo Olsens items over the years. Yet to find this server anywhere else. I love it and the unique pattern. I have found a flatware close to this design in Norway. But no service pieces.

      Never too late to comment.
Beautiful piece and 830 S is for silver purity in the alloy; 830 /1000 and letter S is for Sølv in Norwegian meaning silver, NOT sterling which is .925 /1000.
