i picked this skateboard up years ago at a sidewalk sale. i was told little by the woman that sold it to me other than that it was 'very old'.Pretty sure this was handcrafted out of a solid peice 3/4" thick wood. the groove carved out of the decks surface is a tad off center.
its 23 1/2"long and 6 1/2" wide.. its wheels are metal, and Im all but certain they come from an older rollerskate..
Is this a 'typical' handmade skateboard cir.1960 ? im just curious to know more about this so if anyone has an idea..please share - thanks

This is an English Draw Leaf table, found in Pubs they were usually Oak with 4 chairs, a nice set can bring about $1200.00 in the right market.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that this board probably goes back to the fifties since by the sixties they were more advanced....note that both trucks are the 'fronts' of a pair of street skates of the day with the toe clamps removed a bolted to a piece of wood, the groove was probably already in the wood before it was cut for this use.
The first 'pro' boards came out of California and had graphics and slightly slicker trucks..
Sorry about the table thing :(

Pop made this extra cool. Pub table skateboard worth 1200 bucks...awesome!
The reality is pretty awesome as well. Have you hit the half pipe with this?

I would like to add that my first commercially bought skateboard was wooden and it was bought in 1959.
It had some graphics, they were small ad decals.
We would skateboard down the sidewalk on a long hill and right out into the street.

Looks like Pop hit the nail on the head. I never owned a skate board but I sure remember the old skates this one is made from. I skinned my knees enough with skates..........I figured a skate board would be the end.
