I am a picker but have a limited knowledge of jewelry. Please help me identify these rings I have inherited from my fathers estate. This ring was originally my grandfathers, he was born in the 1890's and left this ring to my father in the 1970's. My father never wore the ring and it shows some wear to the band as well as two very small chips.
The ring is marked 10k looks to be onyx and the cameo may be stone, there is a small chip and under magnification looks like quartz, but may be glass.
Is this style still collectible? Does this ring have a value above and beyond its scrap value?
Thanks to any and all information.
Thank you, great site.
I'd agree, it's worth more than scrapping it would be. Working in retail second hand jewellery, people ask for cameos a lot. The one you have is particularly nicely done, if you have the time to find the right buyer you could get much more for it.
Thanks Luisa, I do have the time and will be putting it on Etsy next month, I appreciate your thoughts.
