This is a drink bottle I found several years ago and put on a shelf and forget it. I was never able to find out anything on it. After spending so much time on this site lately, I thought I might put it out here and see if anyone has ever seen one before. It is a very unusual bottle. It says it is a Maypop; soda I assume. There is no information on the bottom of the bottle, just the image of a tree with no leaves. There is also a tree on the back of the bottle with no leaves, but has the word Trade Mark above it. Around the bottom of the bottle it says US Patent Office, and the letters LCW 26. All of the lettering and images stand out on the bottle. It is approximately 8 3/4 inches tall, and 7 1/2 inches round on the bottom. It also has a design near the top of the bottle that goes all the way around. It is a dot with a down pointing arrow tip repeated. That is all the information I have. I am hoping that someone can give me a date of manufacturing, and was this part of a larger company. Thanks for looking ! Thrifty Gypsy

I have the same bottle I dug up in a stream bed near an old orchard in Winchester, VA in the mid 1970's. Don't know any more about it. Where did you find your's?

I have one in mint condition and another that the top was broken off so I turned it into a glass. One of my grandfathers delivered them part time in Matthews Co Va. Sorry that I didn't ask him more about it while he was still alive. I believe that it was a local drink in the Tidewater area of Va.

Could it be LGW, if so, I know who made the bottle.

My daughter, Sarah Walters, is an archaeologist who did her master’s on organic material preserved in naturally acid SE soil, preserved because thad been burned. Hr specimens include ancient, several-thousand-year-old maypop seeds. Maybe you should have your bottle age-dated! ????

Just heard this story. My husband's great grandfather, CM Millirons, developed this soda in Macon, GA around 1912. Company was Macola bottling I don't have many other details, but would LOVE to find a bottle for my husband...new mission in life.

Donnavin, it certainly seems likely. How can we connect off line?
