Would really appreciate any help identifying this little bear. Has something in the torso.

    Thank you!

A Stan Herman bear with growler is my guess ? I would need to take out bear book to be sure . Stan Herman made bears in Germany . Or it could be an Ideal Bear with growler that is what is inside that you feel .

I can't help you with why made it but I think I had his twin when I was young. I am talking mid 1950's. I got it for Christmas and I think it came from either the local five and ten cent store or from Montgomery Wards toy department. I will ask my mother when I call her later and see if she remembers. She is almost 88 years old so it may take her a day or ten to remember.

I think it is an Ideal and dates earlier than 50's but the answer is in eyes are they shoe botton or plastic with pupils ?
