    Hello,

    My name is Robert.

I have a bit of a situation regarding this pocket watch.

The thing is I know little or no information about it.

What I do know is that it is signed:

(N1810 Louis RABY Hger de l'Empereur n°5 Bvard des Italiens Paris)

    Also along with number: 10019

    engraved on the casing.

I was hoping that their might be a specialist out there somewere who could inform me a bit more about this watches maker and origin.

Maybe even a good place to put it up for auction.

And potentialy what it could sell for.

    Kind regards,

    Robert

I just don't know, this one and the other you have posted, the movements just don't seem to look right to me, like they've been installed in old cases, I might be totally off base, but something about them makes me think a gernic made movement. Again I don't know but they look wrong to me.

      Hello fellas,

      thanks four your reply's.
Yes it's a tricky one allright.
Im considering sending them away to a watch specialist to examine them thouroughly in order to find out a bit more about those movements.
You very well could be right.
They could have low grade cheap movements in a half decent case.
The German one though has the following:

      Anchor escapement
      Double plate
      15 rubies
      Compensating balance spring
      Bregeut spiral

Even though I have little experience in the antique popcket watch business.
One could determine that this type movement is somewhat decent and maybe authentic.

As for the other "LOUIS RABY" pocket watch I am still to find out more about what kind of movement it has.

      Kind regards

      Robert

      Hello fellas,

      thanks for the suggestion.

Yes I allready tried the website you mentioned but to no avail unfortunatly.

Didn't even get one reply :/

In anycase I found a online website that evaluates your antique pocket watches and prices them for free so I am hoping I will have some success with them.

      Kind regards
