42" Texaco Gasoline Filling Station single sided sign. I was told this sign was used from 1916 to 1918. I have owned this sign for about 26 years and have only ever seen a handful like it. This sign is more of an orange color than the deep red seen on most Texaco signs.

Thanks ignatz & kerry10456!
I have a rare single sided one too, never seen one like mine.
Thanks Trey. I'm no expert but I've heard there may have been as many as three different styles of this early sign. Pretty rare! Glad you've got one, too!
Mine says Texaco across the top and Gasoline on the bottom. There is another one that says motor oil on the bottom too, I have seen the motor oil one, but not the one I Have. Have you seen one like mine.
Trey, The Texaco filling station sign pennegar posted is the earliest and most sought after of all 42" Texaco's. The one you have is the rarer version of the regular texaco gasoline/motor oil sign. I have owned plenty of the 42" motor oil/gasoline but you dont see the one with texaco at the top near as often. Your sign is single sided because it would have went back to back with another single sided one in a frame.
If you want to see some like yours just search through this page, i know there are a few in there.

Thank you for the info oilman514, found it.
Thanks oilman514 for the info. I learned something new, too!
Great sign!
This sign or one of the other versions I should say was on Craigslist a couple of years ago. Of course I called immediately but it was already spoken for:( it sold for 400 bucks and in mint shape.
Very lucky person who got that...Hopefully I'll come across one sooner or later
