A new find this delightful little oil lamp was made by Welz and it is in the Honeycomb pattern. This was the only one like this I'd seen but a friend had another Welz lamp in a different shape and colour.
It is in unused condition .
Thanks to Lear and the symbol on the winder we have more information see below
It is 9 1/2"high
Alas ! the pool has turned green . It has been cold and now lots of rain this puts nitrogen in the water making it change colour, will have to wait until the weather improves as it is a waste of time and money . Miss my pool . Have to go to an indoor one for aqua aerobics .
Thanks to all for the good comments and love.
This little lovely is a show stopper!! It is very interesting to see this very good example of Czek glass. I think this post will help others realize that what they have from their family that might be Chek glass. It appears you know quite a bit about glass, and I am going to post a blue milky opague glass necklace, that was from my Grandmother and she always told me it was Czeckoslovakian(sp) glass. It has three glass panels of sculpted swans , exactly the same, framed in some metal, with blue milky beads. I am a techno idiot, so it may take a couple of days, But I would like you to see this necklace, as I have a feeling you will be able to answer this lifelong question. Thank you so much for sharing this gorgeous lamp. I will write when I get the necklace posted. Thank you again, Mich
Awesome lamp, Marty!
Hi Leah sorry not Text just a symbol I will try and take a photo and send it to you sometime today
Thank you Leah that is very interesting information .
This is another example of Bohemian glass having embellishments - metal mounts ; silver collars etc added in other countries.
Great lamp Marty, i love the combo of metal and glass anyway, but what glass here! Its beautiful, a lamp!! & unused!!! What's not to love. & great it could further knowledge, as it seems pretty scarce where Welz is concerned.
BEAUTIFUL Welz, marty!!
