I just bought this pair of gorgeous antique lamps on eBay for a mere 100 bucks. They are some sort of metal but I can't tell if it is bronze or something else. They came with the shades which are new and really not bad at all! I love them. They really dressed up my apartment. The figures are done very well. They look like antiques, but the seller didn't have any information on them, like where they were made or how old they are. I would love to know more about them. They almost look art nouveau stylized American Indians and there is an Egyptian decorative motif on the base. It all works together and I am very pleased with my acquisition.

The male is stamped on the bottom with "L S P" or "L S F". I am not sure. If anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated. Wish I could upload more pics, as they are nicely detailed, and beautiful and photogenic.

I am not familiar with the initials, but I would guess that it is the foundry that cast these. They are cast in spelter or white metal which is very common for lamps and sculptures like these. They are probably copies of bronzes from the mid 19th century. I saw these two sold as statues, not lamps for $475.00 in 2008. If you want to see them, go to: http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/5289202 I think you did well. Be careful cleaning them, you don't want to remove the finish. Good catch!
