I somehow spotted this lock imbedded in decades of rotting leaves, roots and branches while camping on Crown Land in the Temagami area of Ontario. It's a beast weighing in at 9.3 oz, just over a half pound. Stamped in the brass is St. Catharines, Ontario and on the other side, Canadian Yale and Towne ltd. Stamped in the brass where the key enters is the number 630.

Thanks Shal. It looks identical. Just made in the U.S. and a little smoother. Cool.

Now that is a nice lock. I've got a couple of them, although mine are made in the US. The key cylinder off to the side like that means is is a push lock. You put the key in and instead of turning the key, you push on it. Pushing on the key also pushes on the shackle and makes it move up, then you turn the key and the shackle together.

The emblem on one side is an example of what the bow (or head) of the key looks like.
