This appears to be a rather cheaply produced little figure and it has a defect (small chip off left shoulder), but I know that it is at least 65 years old and may have been produced in Occupied Japan just after WW II. My father-in-law purchased it from someone at Camp Gruber in Oklahoma back in the mid-1940s.

That is really all I know or can speculate about. Any ideas about the manufacturer, time, place, etc.? Thanks!

Thank you Stefdesign -- she is rather sweet.
And Jim -- that is quite interesting. I was wondering why the U.S. required Occupied Japan stamped on imports just the other night. I thought maybe it was some sort of deliberate humiliation for the vanquished. (Which it probably was, actually.) I had no idea it went on so long -- I figured a couple of years at most, so I was glad to see those dates. It would be incredible to find something with "Nippon" on it! Thanks so much for the information!
