My husband found this yesterday when they were digging at a job sight in Athen, Ohio. This bottle is from the 1800's. It has a few scratches but besides that its in great shape for its age. Its very heavy and the metal stopper was inside of it.

Great condition, nice find. Where there is one, there are probably more!!
That is a soda bottle and that type of bottle closure is called a Hutchinson spring stopper.

Thanks for your knowledge. I put this on e-bay, only time will tell? My husband said he found me some more bottles today.
